Wood River Community YMCA Benefits

Aquatic Center – Learning to swim is a great way to build self-esteem and promote good health. Our warm water recreational and therapy pool will offer a relaxing environment for safe exercise, physical therapy and play. The recreational pool will be a place the whole family can enjoy, including a 20 foot high water slide, steam room and spa. The 5-lane 25 yard lap pool will offer swim lesson programs for all ages, competitive swimming, kayaking, water fitness and more. Safety programs help prevent drowning and water-related deaths.

Climbing Facility – Promote health of spirit, mind and body with the YMCA's state-of-the-art climbing wall designed by local enthusiasts.

Ice Arena/Events Center – The NHL size hockey rink will be home to the Sun Valley Youth Hockey Association and The Sun Valley Suns games! The entire family can watch or put on skates provided by the YMCA. Cultural programs are at the heart of Wood River Valley. The Events Center will offer visual and performing arts festivals and concerts throughout the year.

Wellness Center and Aerobics Studio – Participation in Y health and fitness programs offers opportunities for friendship and community, a sense of well-being, self-confidence, and improved mental abilities – not to mention the obvious benefits of healthy hearts, lungs, bones and muscles. The YMCA is known for its instructors who can help design fitness programs that allow people to have fun and stick with it! Obesity is a major health issue and the YMCA will provide help and information on related health topics including women's health issues, rehabilitation, relaxation and stress management and nutrition and weight management.

Multi-Purpose and Party Rooms – Two adjoining multi-purpose rooms are available for community use, Tai Chi, Pilate's, Yoga, family parties and more. Family Nights, Senior Socials and Teen Nights will offer the opportunity for people to meet others.

Child Watch Area – Parents can fell safe while they are working out and kids will feel loved! The YMCA nursery (FREE of charge for members) is a place where younger kids can develop and thrive through play, caring and encouragement.

Fireside Lounge – Enjoy a cup of coffee and the company of friends at the YMCA. Relax after a workout or feel free to come into the YMCA for a small meeting of your own in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere.

Lee Pesky Learning Center – A center that offers programs specializing in helping individuals with learning disabilities. Here people can be taught how to learn and reach their fullest potential in reading, writing and math.
