2012 Paragliding World Cup & U.S.Open Distance National Championships

Summer 2012 Sun Valley will host two premier paragliding Events.

Paragliding World Cup August 18th - 25th and Open Distance National Championships August 27th - September 2nd. This event will feature 125 of the best pilots in the world in a race over Idaho. there will be 8 days of continuous Paragliding, race to goal action. Pilots will complete tasks varying in size and duration from 30 miles to 100 plus miles! all Race action will start from the summit of Bald Mountain.
Immediately following the World Cup watch as the nations top pilots battle it out to be crowned the open distance champion. Unlike anything else there is a set course line and a finish, the Open Distance competition is exactly that, who can fly the furthest before the sun sets! The distance record holder is Nate Scales and its 149.5 miles.....
