Summer Music Events
Sun Valley may not offer the concrete stadiums like large cities, but big name musicians seem to be drawn to our majestic mountain acoustics none the less. From the world famous to the neighborhood jam bands the hills are alive with the sound of music in Sun Valley. Our event schedule is packed full of music events that everyone will love and the best part of all is the majority of the concerts are FREE.
Listed below are a few yearly valley favorites.
Ketch'em Alive: Tuesday night free concerts. Each concert starts with a local talent band at 7:00 p.m., with a headline band starting at 7:30 p.m. Picnics are welcome--but no dogs, please. Drinks will be sold at the park. Presented by the Sun Valley / ketchum CVB and the City of Ketchum.

Jazz in the Park ~ Jazz under a starlit Sun Valley Night. Again this summer, Sunday nights in Ketchum's Town Plaza will be lit up with the sound of Jazz. Bring you friends, family, your favorite bottle of wine and a picnic basket and enjoy this relaxing end to the week. This year the sound of Jazz in the Park will begin June 22nd, from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., enjoy local musicians while baking in the evening sun.

The Sun Valley Center for the Arts Summer Concert Series ~ Each summer The Center hosts musical events valley wide and the 2008 lineup is sure to knock your socks off with a wide array of music from afrobeat to country to jazz to folk -- there's a show here for everyone. As usual picnics and blankets are encouraged but you have to leave your pooches and high lawn chairs at home.
Punch Brothers featuring Chris Thile will play July 27th, Hop Porter Park, Hailey Derek Trucks & Susan Tedeschi Soul Strew Revival will play July 17th, River Run Lodge, Ketchum The Neville Brothers will play August 20th. Tickets range between $20-$40. River Run Lodge, Ketchum
- 4th on Fourth Celebration: Reckless Kelly will offer a free concert on July 4th with opening act Muzzie Braun. 5:00-9:00 p.m. Limited space available. Downtown Ketchum. Presented by the Sun Valley/Ketchum CVB and the City of Ketchum Urban Renewal Agency (URA).
- Northern Rockies Folk Festival: Rodney Foster and The Gourds will headline the 31st annual Festival August 1st-2nd. Admission is $25, kids 12 and under are free. Hop Porter Park, Hailey.

Northern Rockies Folk Festival ~ This summer event is one of the largest weekend gatherings of locals and tourists alike that come to chill, dance, and take in the rythm of the Folk. Bands range from the most famous to the good ol' local bands that keep the beat alive. Your cooler, chair, blanket and kids are welcome. Don't forget to bring a pocket full of dollar bills because the local food for sale is cheap and as good as you can imagine hometown cooking can be.

Sun Valley Summer Symphony ~ The Sun Valley Summer Symphony celebrates the majesty of its Alpine setting with the beauty of outstanding free classical music performances, and enriches our lives through its artistic, educational and cultural programming, made possible through the philanthropic generosity of its community. This largest outdoor free symphony in the country will present its 24th season in a new $11 million pavilion August 3rd-18th. A benefit concert featuring the mormon Tabernacle Choir and Denyce Graves will be held on August 9th.

Sun Valley Swing 'n Dixie Jazz Jamboree ~ 300 live performances, dancing, and dixiland fun. This Annual Event is notable amoung Jazz enthusiasts, locals, and travelers alike.
