Sun Valley may not offer the concrete stadiums like large cities, but big name musicians seem to be drawn to our majestic mountain acoustics none the less. From the world famous to the neighborhood jam bands the hills are alive with the sound of music in Sun Valley. Our event schedule is packed full of music events that everyone will love and the best part of all is the majority of the concerts are FREE.
Location: Ketchum's Forest Service Park, 1st Avenue and Washington, Ketchum
Free concert series begins every Tuesday, from the end of June through the end of August at the Forest Service Park at 1st & Washington Avenue in Ketchum. Each concert starts with a local talent band at 7:00 p.m., with a headline band starting at 7:30 p.m. Picnics are welcome--but no dogs, please. Drinks will be sold at the park. Presented by the Sun Valley Chamber and the City of Ketchum.

Weekly outdoor music from 6-8 p.m. from the beginning of July through the end of Labor Day Weekend at Ketchum's Town Square in the center of Ketchum. Free to the public and picnics are encouraged.
Location: Roatary Park across YMCA
Jazz under a starlit Sun Valley Night. Again this summer, Sunday nights in Rotary Park, across from the YMCA on Warm Springs Road will be lit up with the sound of Jazz. Bring you friends, family, your favorite bottle of wine and a picnic basket and enjoy this relaxing end to the week. This year the sound of Jazz in the Park will begin the end of June through the end of July.

Each summer The Center hosts musical events valley wide and the 2011 lineup is sure to knock your socks off with a wide array of music from afrobeat to country to jazz to folk -- there's a show here for everyone. Last year's performers included James Taylor and Carole King. As usual picnics and blankets are encouraged but you have to leave your pooches and high lawn chairs at home.

This summer event is one of the largest weekend gatherings of locals and tourists alike that come to chill, dance, and take in the rythm of the Folk. Bands range from the most famous to the good ol' local bands that keep the beat alive. Your cooler, chair, blanket and kids are welcome. Don't forget to bring a pocket full of dollar bills because the local food for sale is cheap and as good as you can imagine hometown cooking can be.
The Sun Valley Summer Symphony celebrates the majesty of its Alpine setting with the beauty of outstanding free classical music performances, and enriches our lives through its artistic, educational and cultural programming, made possible through the philanthropic generosity of its community. This largest outdoor free symphony in the country will present its 25th season in a new $11 million pavilion August 1-16. The chamber music concerts will kick off the season July 24-29. A benefit concert, that in 2010 featured Garth Brooks, will be held on July 31.

Celebrating their 10th season, Sun Valley Opera will present Midsummer Night's Serenade: An evening serenade of favorite arias and contemporary songs by a 5-voice ensemble on July 10.
