Sun Valley, Idaho Offers Activities Galore for Memorial Day Weekend

The Sun Valley and Ketchum area is kicking off this summer with a jam-packed Memorial Day Weekend. Below is a list of events taking place in the area, May 23rd-26th, 2008.

• May 24th-26th 9:00 a.m-5:00 p.m. Idaho Triennial Exhibition runs through June 11th, 2008. Every three years a different juror selects work by artists from around the state. The 25 selected artists address a range of subject matter with both local and universal relevance. Among the recipients are two painters based in the Wood River Valley. • May 24th-26th Various Times. Magic Lantern Cinemas Spring Film Festival continues through June 6th, showing award winning independent movies. Ketchum. www.magiclanterncinemas.com
• May 24th at 6:00 p.m. The Sun Valley Gallery Association hosts a gallery walk. Stroll to area art galleries open throughout the evening. Ketchum. Free.
• May 24th at 10:00 a.m. Silver Creek Preserve Coming of Spring Walk. Explore Silver Creek, a high-desert spring-fed creek attracting 150 species of birds, and world class fishing. Ketchum. Free. (208) 788-7910
• May 24th-26th Various Times. Sun Valley Wellness Festival. The 11th Annual Sun Valley Wellness Festival offers a variety of programs that explore all types of wellness approaches to living. Keynote speakers will be Dan Millman and Alberto Villoldo. Sun Valley Resort. Passes begin at $60.
• May 24th 9:00 a.m. Sun Valley/Ketchum US Half Marathon. This scenic USATF certified 13.1 mile course runs through the towns of Sun Valley and Ketchum with challenging uphill’s and thrilling descents. A 5K, 12K, and kids Marafun are also offered.
