The Sun Valley area's golf courses promise players of all abilities both breathtaking views and challenging play. Two 18-hole Robert Trent Jones designs in Sun Valley and Elkhorn get consistent top ratings from golf-industry publications and play host to high-profile tournaments, including the Nike Boise Open and the Idaho Tournament of Champions. Sun Valley also offers golfers a premium nine-hole course at Big Wood.

The Valley Club, the Sun Valley area's only private golf and country club, is proud of its challenging and picturesque twenty-seven holes of championship golf. Hale Irwin's 18 holes feature greens often called the best in Idaho, while the new West Nine, designed by acclaimed architect Tom Fazio, frames dramatic elevation changes with water features and the surrounding mountains.
Valley Club members have numerous recreational pursuits at their disposal. Tennis and paddle tennis, swimming and volleyball, as well as cross-country skiing are just some of the outdoor activities available. The summer Kid's Camp is a highlight enjoyed by the youngest of our members. A new, state-of-the art fitness center is now being constructed with completion scheduled in phases in 2007 and 2008.
From 5,800 to 7,131 yards in length, featuring slick bentgrass greens, The Valley Club's Hale Irwin Signature-Design golf course continually challenges its Members. Elkhorn Golf Club's recently renovated 18-hole, par-72 course is ranked by Golf Digest as one of the top 75 resort courses in the nation. Measuring 7,107 yards from its championship tees, the course features large greens, numerous sand bunkers and tricky water hazards on the front nine. The club has hosted the Nike Boise Open, one of the SGA National qualifiers, and the Idaho Tournament of Champions.

Sun Valley's 18-hole par-72 resort course gets consistent raves from Golf Digest as one of the top courses in the nation. Redesigned by Robert Trent Jones Jr. in 1980, the course measures 6,892 yards from the championship tees, and crosses the beautiful Trail Creek seven times on the front nine alone. Course amenities include: a fully equipped pro shop, snack bar, club and cart rental, and a driving range with a practice green.
