Sun Valley’s peak season, June through September, offers excellent dry fly fishing and nymphing on four main waterways: the Big Wood River, Silver Creek, Big Lost River and the Little Wood River. The summer temperatures hover around the mid-eighties and the hatches range from golden stones and green drakes, to pale morning duns and tricos. The fall and winter fishing is fantastic and often overlooked, leaving terrific hatches and few people on the river. In the spring, steelhead trips on the Salmon River offer a fun change from trout fishing.
