4th of July Celebration

There’s nothing quite like a traditional Independence Day celebration in a small town. Hailey is a great place to find old-fashioned fun, live music, antique fairs, rodeo, barbeques with friends and fireworks on the Fourth of July. What could be more fun than sitting on Main, sipping your lemonade while watching our small town parade with your family and friends? If you enjoy small-town traditions, head to Hailey! The day starts with the The Children’s Carnival on the Farmers Market lot (next to Bank of America) between 9:00-12:00, which is planned this year by the Spirit n’ Motion Athletic School. Great fun for kids!

A visit to an Antique Fair at Roberta McKercher Park or North of Main Street is the next must.  Such a great display of Western and European antiques can be found only in Hailey!

Afterwards, head to the main intersection (close to the Mint) for the famous Black Jack Shootout Gang performance between 11:00-12:00 a.m. Their old fashioned dramatization of the Wild West is always a hit with the Hailey crowd!

Next, the main attraction, 4th of July Parade will start at 12:00 noon and will end at approximately 1:30. This year we are celebrating 130 years of Hailey history in the theme of the parade.

4th of July Criterium Bike Race will take place right after the parade.  Watch and cheer for racers of various age groups and categories spin their wheels around town!

Don’t miss the Ice Cream Social at the Hailey Center for the Arts (314 2nd Ave South) after the parade, take a moment to sit on the grass in the garden and visit with friends!

Our famous “Days of the Old West Rodeo” by Sawtooth Rangers will take place on July 2nd, 3rd and 4th at 7:30. Pre-events will take start at 6:30. Rodeo tickets are sold at all Atkinsons’ markets and at the Hailey Chamber, at 706 S. Main Street.

As you may have heard, the new Hailey Rodeo Park has undergone a major remodel and to celebrate that, a ribbon cutting ceremony with Hailey Mayor Rick Davis, City of Hailey officials and and the Sawtooth Rangers will take place on July 2nd at 7:15pm, before the rodeo.

And finally The Fireworks! To conclude our wonderful tradition, fireworks this year will be accompanied by the performance of the 25th Army Band from Boise. So walk, ride your bike, or take a Mountain Rides bus to the Fox Acres Park and bring your picnic blanket or chair to enjoy this wonderful performance.
